JOBBER ALTERNATIVE · FOR THE ONE-MAN SHOP

A Jobber alternative for a truck with one seat.

Jobber is genuinely good software — a deep scheduler and dispatch board built for growing crews. But you're one person, and Jobber prices and shapes itself around a team you don't have. Below: eight options, priced from each company's own page on October 27, 2026. QuoteIron does what a solo shop actually needs — quote, invoice, book the visit, get paid — free for 5 jobs a month, or $15.99 a month flat, offline, month-to-month.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Which Jobber alternative fits one person?

If you are one person who prices jobs from your own rates, QuoteIron is free for 5 jobs a month, then $15.99 a month ($159.99 a year). Jobber Core is $49 a month month-to-month ($29 a month on an annual plan) and leaves out quote follow-ups and QuickBooks sync. Joist Pro is $16.99 a month for plain estimates and invoices. If you need two-way QuickBooks sync or you dispatch a crew, price Jobber Connect ($139), Contractor+ Pro Team, Markate or Tradify instead. QuoteIron’s QuickBooks Online link is a one-way push on Pro, not a two-way sync, and it has no crew features.

Prices checked October 27, 2026 on each company’s own pricing page, linked in the sections below. We make QuoteIron, so check every figure on the source page before you decide.

FIRST, THE FAIR PART

Where Jobber earns its price.

This isn't a hit piece. If you run a crew, dispatch techs, and live inside a scheduling calendar, Jobber is worth a serious look. Its drag-and-drop scheduling, dispatch, client hub, native payments, and QuickBooks sync are mature and real. The question isn't whether Jobber is good software. It's whether a one-person shop should pay team-shaped pricing for a scheduler it barely opens.

WHAT JOBBER ACTUALLY COSTS SOLO

Team pricing, one truck.

Every Jobber figure below comes from Jobber's own pricing page, checked October 27, 2026. Jobber's cheapest month-to-month plan is $49 a month for one user; the $29 headline needs a year billed annually. Quote and invoice follow-ups, automated client reminders and QuickBooks Online sync start on Connect, not Core. Two-way texting starts on Grow.

Source: getjobber.com/pricing, read October 27, 2026. The page also shows introductory prices in a promotion whose terms say to subscribe before October 30, 2026 (for example Core at $35 a month for the first 3 months month-to-month, or $21 a month for the first 12 months on the annual plan); the list prices above are what follow. Jobber lists a 14-day free trial of the Grow plan with no credit card required. Card payments on every plan: 2.9% + 30¢, Tap to Pay 2.7% + 30¢, bank payments (ACH) 1%, instant payouts 1% extra. Optional add-ons on top of any plan: Marketing Suite $99/mo, Receptionist $29/mo, Pipeline $49/mo.

Same card rate, lower monthly price. Jobber and QuoteIron both come to 2.9% + 30¢ per online card payment (QuoteIron’s runs through your own Stripe account and QuoteIron adds 0%). Pro is $15.99 a month against Jobber Core’s $49. See the full card fee comparison.

Sources, all read October 27, 2026: Jobber · Joist · Contractor+ · Tradify · Markate · Housecall Pro · Workiz. Joist’s Basics, Pro and Elite prices are from its App Store listing, checked November 2, 2026. Joist’s higher plans: Elite $31.99/mo adds change orders and the license-and-insurance block; Run, $70/mo at its introductory price ($100 regular), adds scheduling. We could not read ServiceTitan, Square or Invoice Simple pricing today and left them out. Two three-way breakdowns: Jobber vs Joist vs QuoteIron and QuoteIron vs Joist; for Housecall Pro see the Housecall Pro alternative guide.

YEAR-ONE COST, ONE USER

What twelve months costs.

Our arithmetic on the list prices above (checked October 27, 2026): twelve months times the monthly price, with the annual plan priced as listed. Promotional first-months pricing is left out. Housecall Pro and Workiz do not publish a plan price, so they are not in the table.

The gap, in dollars. Month-to-month, Jobber Core costs $396.12 more than QuoteIron Pro over a year ($588 − $191.88). On annual plans the gap is $188.01 ($348 − $159.99). Against Jobber Connect, the tier that adds follow-ups and QuickBooks sync, the annual gap is $1,028.01 ($1,188 − $159.99). Card fees are extra everywhere: 2.9% + 30¢ on both QuoteIron and Jobber.

“Jobber’s cheapest month-to-month plan is $49 a month for one user; the $29 headline needs a year billed annually.”

THE HONEST SPLIT

Who each one is really for.

Pick by the shape of your day, not the length of the feature list.

Stay on Jobber if…

CREW-SHAPED WORK
  • You schedule and dispatch two or more people and need a real drag-drop calendar.
  • You want native card processing and two-way QuickBooks-style bookkeeping inside one tool.
  • Your office runs the software all day — routing, timesheets, client hub, requests.
  • The monthly cost disappears against the labor you're coordinating.

Switch to QuoteIron if…

ONE-TRUCK WORK
  • You are the schedule. Your calendar is your phone and your head.
  • You mostly need to hand over a firm price fast, then invoice when you win.
  • You quote in basements and crawlspaces where the signal dies — QuoteIron runs offline.
  • You want one flat $15.99, no per-user math, no year paid up front to hit the good rate.

THE HONEST TRADE-OFFS

What you give up, what you gain.

Switching down from a crew platform means losing things. Here's the plain truth about both directions.

What QuoteIron does NOT do: no dispatch board, no crew scheduling, no route optimization, no live two-way QuickBooks sync. If those are your day, Jobber wins — honestly.
The trade-off, stated straight
What you gain: true offline quoting, a flat-rate price book you build from 1100+ job templates, good/better/best options, e-signatures, job photos, a one-person schedule with "On my way" texts, an importer that brings your Jobber client list and price book over from their CSV export, and a one-tap income CSV export — all included, no add-on tiers.
What lands on both plans, free included
What you keep: your money flow. QuoteIron surfaces your own Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, or card link on the invoice, and with Pro, card payments go straight to your own Stripe account — so QuoteIron can never hold or freeze a payment.
Payments, your way
THE SWITCH ITSELF

Bring your client list and your price book with you.

Two CSVs out of Jobber, two taps into QuoteIron. Your customers and your prices come across — no retyping a book you already built.

Getting the files out of Jobber. We ran this on a live Jobber account, so these are the real clicks, not a guess. Your price book is Settings → Products & Services → Export CSV — on our small test account that downloaded instantly; Jobber's help center says a list of 50 or more items is emailed to you instead. Your client list is Clients → More Actions → Export Clients, and you have to change the format to CSV, because vCard is what Jobber picks by default. Jobber doesn't hand you the client file directly: it emails it to the account owner, so check your inbox. Each file caps at 1,500 clients; past that Jobber sends more than one.

Getting them into QuoteIron. Open Settings → Import & Export → Import from Another App — the Book and Clients tabs show the same button while they're empty — and choose the file. QuoteIron reads your column names, works out on its own whether it's a client list or a price book, and shows you the first rows before it touches anything. If it guessed a column wrong, you re-point it yourself from a dropdown. Nothing gets added until you tap the import button, and one tap undoes the whole batch if you don't like what landed. Clients come in with name, phone, email, address, and notes. Price-book jobs come in at your prices, held as a fixed price, so later changes to your labor rate or markup can't quietly move numbers you already trust.

The file never leaves your phone. It's read on your device, inside the app. Nothing about it is uploaded — not the file, not your prices, not your customers' names, addresses or numbers. Your client list can't leak from our server, because it never reaches our server. That's the part most of these migrations get wrong.

Jobber is the one we've tested end to end against real exported files — the client list and the price book both. It also reads the CSV exports from Housecall Pro, Square, QuickBooks, FieldPulse, and Joist: those we've built to match each app's published export format rather than proven against a real file, so we'll call that compatible, not battle-tested. And underneath all of it there's a plain fallback — any app that exports a CSV with a row of column names will work, because you can always point our fields at your columns by hand before anything is imported. One caveat if you're also on Housecall Pro: HCP's own help center says Profit Rhino price-book data can't be exported at all, by anyone, so that catalog can't come with you. That's their limit, not ours.

Mind Jobber’s billing terms before you cancel. Per Jobber’s Terms of Service (read October 27, 2026), an annual plan has to be cancelled at least 30 days before its renewal date or it renews for another year, and its fees are non-refundable, including partial months and unused months. A cancellation during an annual term billed monthly ends the plan at term end and the scheduled payments are still owed. Do the exports first, then check your renewal date. The step-by-step is in how to cancel Jobber, and the card-fee side of the move is in card processing fees compared.

What doesn't come over is job, quote and invoice history — that's the least standardized data in this whole category, and we'd rather say so than fake it. Your book and your clients move; jobs start fresh. Pull your Reports history out of Jobber as CSV for your own records before you go, and if you're leaving for good, the full cancel-Jobber steps cover the renewal-date and refund gotchas too.

From there it's the same offline-first setup covered above — your book lives on your device, backs itself up encrypted automatically, and one tap exports a full JSON copy plus an income CSV any time. If you ever need to leave QuoteIron too, you leave with everything — no support ticket required.

Import is built into the QuoteIron app on iPhone and Android. Jobber's export click-paths above were captured first-hand from a live Jobber account, August 2026, and checked against Jobber's help center in September 2026.

THE PAPERWORK, INCLUDED

The paperwork a solo job generates.

A one-truck job isn't one quote and one invoice. It's a deposit, a scope change halfway through, a part-payment, a receipt, and a chase when the balance sits — all of it on the free plan too, and all of it inside the $15.99.

On the paper

WHAT THE CUSTOMER HOLDS
  • Receipts — numbered, stamped PAID, showing paid-to-date and balance. The record that settles "I already gave you a deposit."
  • Partial payments with a running balance — the invoice prints what's been paid and what's left.
  • Change orders — its own numbered document, approved on the customer's phone, rolled into the same final invoice.
  • Due dates and net terms, frozen onto the invoice at conversion so a later settings change can't move a date a customer already holds.

On your side

WHAT YOU CONTROL
  • Tax-exempt clients — flag the client once and their paperwork stops adding tax.
  • A chase list for quotes gone quiet and invoices past due — one tap opens the reminder, and you send it.
  • Automatic reminders, too — QuoteIron emails the customer on open estimates and unpaid invoices on its own, included free, and adds text nudges on Pro (up to 50 texts a month).
  • Job address, license line, signature and schedule printed on the document.
  • Private job notes, and starting numbers so your first invoice continues the sequence you've used for years.

On both QuoteIron plans — free for 5 jobs a month, and Pro at $15.99/mo — automatic email reminders and the manual chase list ship at no extra tier; Pro adds text reminders too. On Jobber's own pricing page (checked October 27, 2026), quote and invoice follow-ups and automated client reminders start at Connect, $139/mo month-to-month. Payment terms: Net 30 vs due on receipt.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions before you switch.

What's actually involved in switching from Jobber to something cheaper?

Less than you'd think for a one-person shop. Export two files from Jobber — your price book (Settings → Products & Services → Export CSV; emailed if you have 50 or more items) and your client list (Clients → More Actions → Export Clients, pick CSV, Jobber emails it to you) — then open Settings → Import & Export → Import from Another App in QuoteIron and choose each one. Your clients and your prices come across; job, quote and invoice history does not. Before you cancel Jobber, check your renewal date: per its Terms of Service (read October 27, 2026) an annual plan must be cancelled at least 30 days ahead of renewal and fees are non-refundable.

Can I import my Jobber client list into QuoteIron?

Yes — clients and your price book both. Export them from Jobber as CSV, then open Settings → Import & Export → Import from Another App (the Book and Clients tabs show it too while they're empty). QuoteIron reads the column names, shows you the first rows, and lets you fix any column it guessed wrong before a single record is added — and one tap undoes the whole import. Clients arrive with name, phone, email, address and notes; book jobs arrive at the prices you were already charging. The file is read on your device and nothing about it is uploaded, so your customer list never touches our server. Jobber is the export we've tested against real files; Housecall Pro, Square, QuickBooks, FieldPulse and Joist are built to their published CSV formats, and any app that exports a CSV with a header row will work because you can map the columns yourself.

How much does Jobber cost for one person?

Checked October 27, 2026 on Jobber's own pricing page, for one user: Core is $49 a month month-to-month, $39 on a 1-year commitment billed monthly, or $29 a month billed annually. Connect is $139, $119 or $99; Grow is $199, $169 or $149. Quote and invoice follow-ups and QuickBooks Online sync begin at Connect; two-way texting at Grow. Extra users are $29 a month each. QuoteIron is free for 5 jobs a month, or $15.99 a month for unlimited, with no per-user fees.

What is the cheapest Jobber alternative for one person?

On the pages we read October 27, 2026: QuoteIron is free for 5 jobs a month and $15.99 a month after that ($159.99 a year); Contractor+ has a free plan capped at 5 estimates or invoices a month; Joist Basics is $9.99 a month for up to 5 documents a month and Joist Pro is $16.99 a month for unlimited. Jobber Core is $49 a month month-to-month. Housecall Pro and Workiz did not publish plan prices on those pages. QuoteIron needs no credit card to start.

Is QuoteIron just a cheaper Jobber?

No — it's a narrower tool built for one person. Jobber is a crew operating system with dispatch, crew scheduling, routing, payments, and bookkeeping sync. QuoteIron is offline-first quoting, invoicing and scheduling for one person, with a build-your-own flat-rate price book and, with Pro, card payments to your own Stripe account. If you need dispatch and crew tools, keep Jobber. If you mostly need to price, book and bill your own work, QuoteIron does that free for 5 jobs a month or $15.99 flat.

Does QuoteIron have scheduling?

Yes — for one person. There's a Schedule tab (day, week and month), a booking sheet that shows the rest of your day on a timeline while you drag the visit into place, a title on each appointment, and On My Way, which opens a text to your next customer that you send. Won jobs drop onto your phone's calendar in one tap. What it isn't is a dispatch board: no crews, no routing, no techs to assign. If that's central to your day, that's a real reason to stay with Jobber.

Do I have to sign an annual contract to get the good price?

No. QuoteIron is $15.99 a month month-to-month, or $159.99 a year if you want two months free — your choice, not a requirement. Jobber's lowest rate ($29 a month on Core) needs an annual plan, and per Jobber's Terms of Service (read October 27, 2026) its fees are non-refundable. Jobber's month-to-month Core price is $49 a month.

Does the cheapest Jobber plan sync with QuickBooks?

No. On Jobber's pricing page (checked October 27, 2026), QuickBooks Online sync starts on Connect, $139 a month month-to-month or $99 a month billed annually, for one user. With Pro, QuoteIron pushes your customers, invoices and payments one way to QuickBooks Online (nothing is pulled back); you can also export your data any time, including an income CSV. If two-way sync is the deciding feature, price Jobber Connect, Contractor+ Pro Team, Markate or Tradify rather than the entry plans.

What happens to my data if I leave QuoteIron?

Your readable data was never on our servers to begin with — it lives on your device. One tap exports the whole book as a JSON backup plus an income CSV any accountant or bookkeeping tool can open. If you leave, you leave with everything.

Does QuoteIron do change orders and partial payments, or is that a paid add-on?

Neither is an add-on — both are on the free plan and in Pro at $15.99 a month, and a change order never costs you an extra free job. A change order is its own numbered document tied to the job it amends; the customer approves it on their phone and the lines roll into that job's final invoice. Partial payments print paid-to-date and balance, and each one can go out as its own numbered receipt. Writing your first change order? There's a walkthrough and a copy-paste template in how to write a change order.
